National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE (Main)-2027) examination. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online here .
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) every year for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate engineering and architecture courses at leading institutions in India. JEE Main is the primary entrance examination for admission to BE/BTech programmes at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other participating technical institutions. It is also the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Eligibility Criteria to Appear in JEE Main Exam
Following is the eligibility criteria to appear in JEE Main 2027 exam
Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main 2027. Candidates who passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2025 or 2026, or are appearing for it in 2027, are eligible to take the exam regardless of their age.

However, they must also meet the age-related requirements, if any, set by the institute where they wish to seek admission.
Educational Qualification: Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2025, 2026, or those who are appearing in the Class 12/ equivalent examination in 2027, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2027.
Candidates who passed the Class XII / equivalent examination in 2024 or before are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2027.
State of Eligibility: State code of eligibility means the code of the State from where the candidate has passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying examination by virtue of which the candidate becomes eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2027. It is important to note that the State code of eligibility does NOT depend upon the native place or the place of residence of the candidate.
# For example, if a candidate appears for the Class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying examination from an Institution situated in New Delhi and is a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, then the candidate’s State code of eligibility will be Delhi and NOT Uttar Pradesh.

Type of test/s: Entire exams will be of “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only, except Part-III of Paper 2A (B.Arch); which is a Drawing Test. It is to be conducted in “Pen and Paper Based” (offline) mode to be attempted on a Drawing sheet of A4 size.
Marking Scheme for MCQs/ for questions for which the answer is a Numerical value: Candidates receive 4 marks for every correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response. No marks are awarded or deducted for questions left unanswered. This negative marking rule applies to both Section A and Section B. For the Drawing Test, the two questions are assessed for a total of 100 marks.
Total Time Duration: Total Time Duration for Paper 2A (B. Arch) and Paper 2B (B. Planning) is 3 hours and for Paper 2A (B. Arch) & Paper 2B (B. Planning) both, the total duration is 03 hours 30 minutes.
